About SecretEATS
We are a clandestine, underground dining movement that takes adventurous, outgoing food lovers and top chefs to unique, unexpected and often amazing locations for a magical secret dinner party. Started in Cape Town, South Africa back in 2012, our dinner parties are now held in cities around the world.
Headquartered in picturesque Hoi An, Vietnam our small but nimble international team hails from the US, Canada, South Africa and Vietnam. Our mission is simple: to become the undisputed champion of Secret dinner parties around the world. But, shh…don’t tell anyone!
How You Can Help
We believe in making sure your experience is a win-win for you and for us. With this in mind, we like to get to know you a bit before you arrive and understand your strengths and, of course, what you’re interested in doing while you’re with us. Here are a few of the ways we could use your help:
- Digital Marketing / Social Media: Work with our seasoned, experienced team of digital nomads on anything from growing a mailing list, your Twitter or Instagram following or managing Facebook ads. Join us on our brainstorming and strategy sessions as we plan our 2018 marketing efforts in cities around the world. (min 1 month)
- Photography: Step behind the scenes and capture the magic, mystery and intrigue of one of our Secret evenings or get up close and personal with our Secret chefs. Or, join us behind the scenes and help organize our digital library of photos. (min 1 week)
- Video / Video Editing: Spend your time filming the magic of Hoi An to produce an outstanding quality promo video for secret dinners in Southeast Asia and around the world. (min 3 weeks)
- Web Development: We’re looking for a kick butt developer comfortable on WordPress, SquareSpace or the platform you know best to come give our web site a serious overhaul. The website’s 4 years old now and needs a fresh look for 2018. Help us put on our new face or get slickly setup and automated so our landing pages and email marketing lists can all talk…
- Content Development: Fancy yourself a wordsmith? Step up to the keyboard and show us your skills. We’ve been writing content about clandestine dinners for 5 years now and we’re committed to keeping it fresh. Grab the salt, pepper and paprika and show us how you’d spice it up.
- Graphic Design: Yes, yes and heck yes! We’re always looking to get a flyer or a print piece designed and it’s helpful to have an experienced, professional graphic designer come join the team for a few weeks. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you busy. Pretty straightforward.
- Research and Outreach: Learn our grassroots approach to creating a buzz about your brand and how to implement the strategies for your own use. Connect with different chefs, wine farms, alcohol brands, artists and more. Help spread the word of our Secret dinner parties…discretely, of course. 😉
- Networking: One of the perks of being in the food and wine industry is, of course, the food and wine! If you’re a foodie and love to network, come join our team for a month or two and let’s get connecting! We’d love to show you the ropes and teach you how we started without knowing a single chef to working with some of the top names around the world and top brands, too.
- Event Management: Help us organize and run a secret dinner party here in Central Vietnam (date dependent) or learn how to take the reigns and host our absolutely awesome events back in your city (min 2-3 month commitment).

Live, Work, Play
We have a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home close to the center of Hoi An and located between Old Town and Cue Dai Beach. In exchange for 20 hours of work per week, you will get your own large bedroom and private bathroom and shared access to the lounge, kitchen and common areas. You will be sharing the home with another like-minded traveler working on a health/wellness project here in town. We’re looking for a minimum 2 weeks stay and can accomodate you for up to 3 months.
Hoi An is an amazing city filled with a vibrant arts and music scene, a delicious dining culture for vegetarians and carnivores, great beach bars and an amazing lifestyle. Just recently rated one of the Top 3 Best Beaches to Live on in the World by Thtillist magazine, Hoi An is on the verge of something big and we’d love to show you why we love living here.
Our team has a wealth of experience for travelers to learn from, including how to start your own successful business. Our team includes entrepreneurs in food, wine and travel, a graphic designing, cat loving traveling yogi and is led by a Vietnamese-Canadian digital nomad & yoga teacher. Talk about diversity?! Beyond this, our guests will have the chance to engage with the Vietnamese and international community that live, work and play in Hoi An, Da Nang and Central Vietnam on a daily basis as they perform their tasks.

We’d love to get to know you! We want to learn more about you, your interests, skills, and what types of projects you’d like to work on. We’ve put together this basic online form to gather this information and are asking you to take 15-20 minutes over the next few days to complete it. This gives us the opportunity to see if working together will be a good fit.
